EGG PROTEIN TREATMENT

Eggs are packed with protein, sulfur and biotin, all of which contribute to shiny, healthy hair when eaten or applied as a hair mask. The yolk, rich in fats and proteins, is naturally moisturizing, while the white, which contains bacteria-eating enzymes, removes unwanted oils.

Because of the quick spoilage rate of this natural product, commercial hair products don’t contain eggs. Yet, home treatments using eggs require little time, expense or experience.

  • Prep: 30 mins
  • Yields: 1 Hair Mask

Ingredients

1/2 cup of whichever Egg Mixture is appropriate for your hair

Directions

WHICH HAIR TYPE ARE YOU?

1Normal Hair: Use the entire Egg to condition hair

2Oily Hair: Use Egg WHITES ONLY

3Dry Hair: Use Egg YOLKS ONLY to moisturize

TREATMENT

1Mix 1/2 cup of whichever Egg mixture is appropriate for you and apply to clean, damp hair. If there isn’t enough Egg to coat scalp and hair, use more as needed. Leave on for 30 minutes, rinse thoroughly with cool water (to prevent Egg from “cooking”) and shampoo hair

2Whole Egg and Yolks-Only Treatments can be applied once a month | Whites-Only Treatment can be applied every two weeks

3NOTE: Always use, Organic, Pasture-Raised, or Fresh Eggs from your local Farmers Market for the most beneficial hair Treatment. These Eggs are safer to use raw and contain more healthy nutrients than Factory Farmed Eggs

4WARNING: USE A FRESH CARTON OF EGGS TO AVOID AN UNPLEASANT-SMELLING SURPRISE WHEN BREAKING OPEN THE EGGS. RINSE THE EGG HAIR MASK WITH COOL OR LUKEWARM WATER. HOT WATER WILL LITERALLY COOK THE EGGS.
